Medium Format Negatives: Lightmeter experimentation

Last Tuesday I was taught how to develop my 60x60 negatives in the dark room, I found the process relatively easy as I had already developed 35mm negatives in the past and in actual fact found the 60x60 developing an easier process. This is because the 35mm carton can sometimes be tricky to open.

1st Shot
F/4 Shutter speed 125
F/5.6 2/10 Shutter speed 125

F/5.6 7/10 Shutter speed 125

F/2.8 7/10 Shutter speed 125
F/4 6/10 Shutter speed 125
F/8 Shutter speed 125

 3rd Shot
F/2.8 Shutter speed 125
F/5.6 1/10 Shutter speed 125

F/5.6 8/10 Shutter speed 125
 Experimental settings
F/2.8 Shutter spead 500
F/8 Shutter speed 125
F/4 Shutter speed 125
I feel that my negatives were very successful, the use of the light meter to measure the highlights, mid tones and lowlights worked well as there are obvious differences between each image between the three identical shots. It has been a good way of learning how the aperture works and changes how much light is let in through the lens; despite there only being a difference of 5/10 of a Fstop in some shots there is still an obvious difference between the images.
This has highlighted to me how important it is to be accurate with both the aperture and shutter speed when taking photographs in the studio by using the light meter.
